“It was all unexpected. It started with news of other schools shutting down campus to minimize social interaction. Next thing I knew, my school was getting shut down, and a week later the whole Bay Area was shutting down. I was put in a predicament, to either stay working at my hotel to make money and risk my health or obey the Shelter in Place order. I decided to obey the order because I live with people who are at high risk of suffering to COVID-19.”
“I think it’s necessary for everyone to shift the way we live and our contributions to society. Once we emerge from sheltering in place, many people including myself will be restrictive on large gatherings we partake in. As we’ve sheltered in place, earth has begun to slowly and beautifully heal herself, so I hope people continue to treat the earth with care. Since this is a pandemic, many parts of this nation are being exposed of it’s true value. Capitalism was momentarily put aside, essential workers happened to be the jobs paying the least, rent has been excused temporarily, there are long lines to get inside grocery stores, etc. I hope this gives perspective to all Americans about what truly matters in life. Our health.”
