The California Historical Society has a longstanding commitment to educating people of all ages about California’s complex and diverse histories. In 2018, the California Historical Society partnered with the California History-Social Science Project to establish Teaching California, a free online portal of discovery to California’s California History-Social Science Framework.
Teaching California is designed to address existing needs and provide a sustainable model for future instructional material development: a free, online, and open curriculum program, aligned with the new Framework.
Docent-led exhibition tours for the K-12 classes, homeschool groups, or after-school programs are available. Please contact us two weeks prior to your desired tour date. CHS typically has one or two exhibitions on view at any given time, and tours are designed to align with the exhibition on view. Visit our Current Exhibition page to learn more about what’s on view.
